About Cocktails Compass

Cocktails Compass is for people who like having friends round and want to hand them something good. Start with the bottles you already own, and the site shows what you can make with them tonight, and which one bottle would open up the most.

Recipes first

Every recipe puts the drink first: ingredients, amounts and method, then the story if you want it. Amounts come in millilitres, centilitres or ounces, scale to the number of glasses, and print on a single page for the bar cart.

Each recipe is checked, ingredient by ingredient, against published references before it goes up, and the collection grows as drinks are reviewed. It shares its recipes and photographs with our Danish sister site, Cocktailkompasset.

The compass

What can you make? understands that a London Dry gin is a gin and that the Cointreau on your shelf covers a recipe asking for orange liqueur, while knowing that bourbon and Scotch are not interchangeable. It shows the drinks you can make now and the ones that are a single ingredient away.

No clutter

There are no ads, no pop-ups asking for your email and no comment sections. You can use everything without an account. If you create one, it remembers your bar, favourites, private notes and ratings, and you can take it all with you or delete it whenever you like (privacy).
