Non-alcoholic Negroni (Nogroni)
The best Nogroni is made with equal parts non-alcoholic gin, bitter aperitif and vermouth, stirred over ice. If you absolutely must.
Ingredients
- Alcohol-free gin, ISH or Seedlip preferrede.g. ISH London Spirit30 ml
- Alcohol-free bitter aperitife.g. Æcorn Bitter30 ml
- Alcohol-free vermouthe.g. Æcorn Aromatic30 ml
- Orange, for garnish (optional)1 twist
Method
- Add the non-alcoholic gin, bitter aperitif and vermouth to a glass filled with plenty of ice.
- Stir slowly for about ten seconds, until the drink is ice-cold and lightly diluted.
- Express an orange peel over the glass so the oils settle on the surface, then drop it in.
About this drink
The non-alcoholic Negroni, or Nogroni, proves that alcohol-free need not mean sweet and childish. Non-alcoholic aperitifs are made for precisely this: bitterness, herbs and a dry, upright finish. Equal parts of all three, stirred cold over a large ice cube, with an orange peel to carry the aroma.
