  • Campari45 ml
  • Icefill the glass
  • Soda water, chilled135 ml
  • Orange, for garnish (optional)1 slice

Method

  1. Chill the glass and soda water thoroughly before serving.
  2. Fill the glass with large, fresh ice cubes to keep the drink cold without diluting it too quickly.
  3. Pour the soda water into the glass first — it preserves the carbonation best.
  4. Pour the Campari carefully over the top; the heavier liquid sinks through the bubbles and mixes itself.
  5. Do not stir the drink, so the carbonation is retained.
  6. Garnish with a slice of orange and serve at once.

About this drink

Campari Soda was born in Italy as a simple aperitivo, where Campari’s bitterness meets the crisp bubbles of soda water. The drink is a tribute to simplicity — no shaker, no stirring, only precision and patience. Since the 1860s, its crimson-red colour and bittersweet flavour have made it a fixture before dinner in Italy.
