About this drink
The Green Swizzle comes from the Caribbean swizzle tradition, in which drinks were whisked ice-cold with a branched swizzle stick rather than shaken. Its green colour originally came from absinthe or wormwood bitters, but during the twentieth century crème de menthe took over as a more accessible, and less controversial, alternative. Rum, falernum and lime give a spiced, citrus-fresh base, which the mint crowns with a cool, almost menthol finish.
