About this drink
The Limoncello Spritz is the sun-drenched cousin of the classic Aperol Spritz and follows the Italian 3-2-1 idea: mostly bubbles, then sweetness, and finally a splash of soda. Limoncello from the Sorrento coast gives the drink its intense citrus perfume, while a dry prosecco keeps everything elegant and not too sweet. It has become part of Italian aperitivo culture, enjoyed in the sun with olives and bruschetta.
Questions and answers
What is a Limoncello Spritz?
A brighter, more lemon-led spritz than the classic Aperol version: limoncello brings a sweet-tart Italian summer flavour instead of the bitter orange note.
Which garnish suits a Limoncello Spritz best?
Basil or mint gives a fresh, herbal counterpoint to the lemon sweetness, while a simple lemon wheel keeps it clean and classic. Both work well.
