About this drink

The Milano-Torino was born in 1860s Milan at Gaspare Campari's café, where its two namesake ingredients, Campari from Milan and sweet vermouth from Turin, first met in a glass. The drink is the ancestor of both the Americano and the Negroni, and its simplicity is still its greatest strength. Add soda water and it becomes an Americano, but in its pure form it is more spirituous and direct.
