Skumbanan Shot
A creamy little shot of vanilla, banana and chocolate milk that tastes remarkably like the Danish sweet.
Ingredients
- Licor 43, Spanish vanilla liqueur20 ml
- Banana liqueur, Pisang Ambon20 ml
- Ice, ice cubes for shaking65 g
- Milk, chocolate milk40 ml
Method
- Fill a shaker with ice cubes.
- Add the Licor 43, banana liqueur and chocolate milk.
- Shake hard for 10–15 seconds, until ice cold and slightly frothy.
- Strain into cold shot glasses.
- Serve straight away, while the froth and chill are at their best.
About this drink
The Skumbanan Shot is a Danish bar invention that tries to capture the flavour of the skumbanan, a classic Danish sweet of banana-flavoured marshmallow coated in chocolate, in liquid form. The creamy vanilla of Licor 43 with the intense banana of Pisang Ambon hits that sweet-shop nostalgia surprisingly well, and a splash of chocolate milk gives the round, soft finish. Some use Jägermeister instead of Licor 43, but the result is more herbal and less true to the original.
