About this drink
The Mary Pickford was created in 1920s Havana, when American bartenders fled to Cuba during Prohibition. It is named after the silent film star Mary Pickford, although it is doubtful she was actually present at its creation. It first appeared in print in 1928 and later became a classic of The Savoy Cocktail Book.
