About this drink
Pimm's traces back to James Pimm's oyster bar in the City of London, where a gin-based 'No. 1 Cup' was the house drink for washing down oysters in the 1840s. It became the unavoidable companion of British garden parties, cricket matches and Wimbledon, where it is still poured by the tens of thousands during the tournament. The recipe is simple on purpose: the fruit, cucumber and mint do the work.
