Star City Fizz
A fresh, bubbly fizz of pomegranate, cranberry and white rum, topped with soda water.
Ingredients
- White rum, light and clean in style60 ml
- Pomegranate juice, freshly pressed or a good bottled juice60 ml
- Cranberry juice, white cranberry juice30 ml
- Soda water, ideally from a siphon, for the finest bubblestop up
- Lemon, to garnish (optional)1 wheel
Method
- Add the white rum, pomegranate juice and cranberry juice to a shaker.
- Add plenty of ice and shake hard for about 30 seconds, until the shaker is ice cold.
- Strain through a fine sieve into a tall glass filled with fresh ice.
- Top up with soda water for a crisp, fine sparkle.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel and serve straight away, while it is cold and lively.
About this drink
The Star City Fizz is a modern member of the fizz family. It keeps the simple fizz logic of spirit, tartness and bubbles, but lets pomegranate and white cranberry do the work of the citrus, bringing colour and a sharp edge. The name says it all: a clear, sparkling drink that twinkles in the glass.
