About this drink
The Margarita has its roots in Mexico in the 1930s and 1940s, when tequila, lime and orange liqueur found their classic balance. The jalapeño version is a newer branch from the American cocktail wave of the 2000s, when bartenders began muddling fresh chilli straight into the shaker to give the classic a modern, fiery twist. The longer the jalapeño steeps, the more it bites, so taste as you go.
