Tips & Notes

  • Pre-chill your rum in the freezer for 30 minutes before making the cocktail for an extra cold result.

  • Don't over-blend as this can make the drink too watery - aim for a smooth, slushy consistency.

  • The key to a perfect Frozen Daiquiri is balance - it should be tart and refreshing, not overly sweet.

  • For a strawberry variation, add 200g of frozen strawberries and reduce the ice slightly.

Unfortunately, a blender is essential for creating the proper frozen, slushy texture that defines this cocktail. A food processor could work as an alternative, but the texture won’t be quite as smooth.

Use the right amount of ice (about 100g) and don’t over-blend. Also, serve immediately after blending to prevent melting. Pre-chilling your ingredients helps maintain the frozen consistency longer.

Use a quality white rum like Bacardi Superior or Havana Club 3 Year. Avoid flavored rums as they can interfere with the clean, balanced flavor profile of the classic Daiquiri.

Cocktail Difficulty Levels

We’ve added a difficulty rating to every cocktail so you’ll know what to expect before you start mixing. It’s not about being “hard” or “easy” in the strict sense—it’s about how much preparation, skill, and hunting for ingredients you’ll need.

  • Beginner – Quick builds or simple shakes with common ingredients you’ll likely already have at home. Perfect for beginners or a casual evening.

  • Intermediate – A bit more technique (stirring, shaking, muddling, layering) and a few extra ingredients. You might need to buy one or two bottles or garnishes you don’t already stock.

  • Advanced – Multiple steps, specialty techniques (infusions, syrups, foams), or rare ingredients. These drinks take more effort and planning, but reward you with something truly impressive.

The rating is based on things like the number of ingredients, how rare they are, and the skills needed to bring the cocktail together.
