Melon Ball
A fresh, fruity drink of vodka, melon liqueur and orange juice: sunshine in a glass.
Ingredients
- Vodka40 ml
- Melon liqueure.g. Midori20 ml
- Orange juice, freshly squeezed90 ml
- Watermelon, scooped into balls, to garnish (optional)3 pieces
Method
- Fill a highball glass with ice cubes.
- Pour the vodka and melon liqueur over the ice.
- Top up with freshly squeezed orange juice and stir briefly.
- Garnish with melon balls on a cocktail pick and serve at once.
About this drink
The Melon Ball became popular in the 1970s and 1980s, when Midori melon liqueur took off in American bars. It is a sweeter, fruitier cousin of the Screwdriver and quickly became a fixture at summer parties and poolside bars.
